Our team at Wag N’ Wash loves seeing the constant success of our Wag N’ Wash Franchise Owners. Today, we highlight Franchise Owner Bill Wolfe as he receives an award from the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce for our pet franchise.
On Friday September 13th, The Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce in the State of Washington hosted their 13th annual awards luncheon to honor the large and small business individuals in the Queen Anne community. These awards specifically spotlight the contributions of these individuals to “bettering the community and support of the chamber.” For this year, the Chamber of Commerce introduced a new award category that “specifically recognizes young professionals who embrace the chamber’s initiative to get involved with the organization and individuals in Queen Anne to boost professional development.” Awards were very diverse, ranging from the Large Business Award to the Community Service Award.
Accepting the Small Business Award for 2019 was our very own Bill Wolfe. Bill opened his Wag N’ Wash in 2017, alongside his partner, Andrew Held. Located in Queen Anne, a neighborhood just North of Downtown Seattle, Bill’s Wag N’ Wash has found it self extremely involved in its community and local events. Bill emphasizes how the entire Queen Anne community has been incredibly supportive in their new launch, stating that he “so appreciated the friendly welcome they received in the community.” Bill and Andrew were longtime customers of Wag N’ Wash before opening their own location in Queen Anne, when they lived in Arizona. Both coming from pet households, Bill had cats, birds, dogs, and spent several summers in northern Arizona fishing with the family Labrador Retriever, Honeybee, while Andrew grew up in rural Ohio with horses, dogs, cats, and raising 4-H lambs. Their current dogs Sophie, Sammie and pup Koa assist the two co-owners in greeting the daily Wag N’ Wash customers while also testing the bakery’s treat for quality control.
Upon moving to Seattle four years ago, the two decided it was the perfect location and opportunity to bring the many services of our pet franchise to their local community. Previously knowing the close relationship each Wag N’ Wash holds with their respective communities, Bill and Andrew were excited to use Wag N’ Wash as an opportunity to better connect with friends and neighbors on a daily basis at the store and a chance to support the humane society and other rescues in their important work.
Since opening their Wag N’ Wash location, Bill and Andrew have made sure to get involved in the various events that occur in Queen Anne. In the annual Queen Anne Days Festival, their Wag N’ Wash location is the title sponsor for the “Kids ‘N’ K-9 Parade“. Alongside their main role in sponsoring this parade, Bill and Andrew also sponsor various other events in the Queen Anne area, such as the “Grand Tree Lighting and Holiday Magic”, which is a holiday event that promotes shopping local and visiting with friends and neighbors, and concludes with the lighting of the community Christmas tree. Bill and Andrew exemplify the mission of Wag N’ Wash, in that our pet franchise not only offers pet food and grooming services, but we also work very closely with our local communities.
Congrats to Bill and Andrew for their incredible work with our pet franchise, and being a change maker in the Queen Anne community!
