Our dog grooming franchise provides the high quality foods, professional grooming, a self-service wash and a vast array of products that are personally selected for companion animals. How many locations are there?
After over a decade of development in Colorado, Wag N’ Wash started franchising nationwide in 2014. We currently have awarded new pet store franchise agreements in Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, Texas, and Washington. We currently have 17 locations, with several more planned for 2018.
How much does it cost to open a Wag N' Wash pet store franchise?
The average investment is approximately $677,160. This includes the franchise fee of $45,000, build-out costs, training expenses, the first 3 months of rent, furniture, signage, computer equipment, inventory and supplies, initial advertising and grand opening costs.
How much Is the franchise fee?
The single unit pet store franchise fee is $45,000. We also offer three-unit and five-unit agreements to select and qualifying candidates.
What are the ongoing fees?
Franchise Owners pay a monthly royalty equal to 6% of gross sales. The fee entitles you to continued use of the Wag N’ Wash name and trademarks, access to our operating systems, product development, ongoing business consulting and other benefits that come with being a pet franchise owner in Wag N’ Wash. We disclose the details of these costs in our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
What does the brand fund cover?
The Wag N’ Wash brand is marketed in two ways. On a national level, we allocate funds from our National Brand Fund to cover the costs of the direct mail reward notifications, enhanced Yelp pages, a social media dashboard, newsletter platform, custom design work, and the services of a Public Relations Firm. On a local level, our support team works directly with you to create marketing plans that consist of community involvement, adoption fairs, social media, and other marketing tactics. Every pet franchise location is different, and we strive to make sure that our marketing efforts reach your customer base.
How does territory work?
We will negotiate the specific size of your Protected Territory based upon the population density, and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to grant only one license to a Franchise Owner for every 100,000 people in a designated geographical area. The actual size of the Protected Territory will vary depending on the population density in your area. We use the most recent data available in the U.S. Census Data, or other population statistical sources of our choosing, to determine population size.
What is the average store size?
Our pet store franchise offers a full retail and natural foods selection, with an bakery, grooming rooms and self-service wash stations. To do all this, we require a space ranging from 3500 sq. ft. to 5000 sq. ft.
Is there support for the construction of my store?
Wag N’ Wash has a talented corporate staff with decades of experience in finding the best vendors for supplying affordable, yet stunningly designed stories. We help you every step of the way.
Do I need prior experience?
No. However, you do need to have a love for animals and a strong drive for success!
Do I need to be in my store every day?
No – If new owners choose to run their business as Semi-Absentee they will hire a General Manager who will run the day to day of the business. It is not a firm prerequisite, but we do encourage new pet franchise owners to spend time in their store, regularly, for the first 12-18 months of operation. This is done in order to fully learn the business, get a strong team in place, and successfully get their location off the ground.
What training will I receive?
Our initial training is conducted in our corporate offices in Denver, Colorado over the course of 2 weeks. We invite you, and up to two of your managers, to attend and complete the training program in which you will learn how to successfully run your Wag N’ Wash pet franchise.
Can I bring my pet to work?
Absolutely! After all, it’s your business and it’s a pet-friendly place to be!
