We provide the high quality foods, professional grooming, a self-service wash and a vast array of products that are personally selected for companion animals. We take pride in our knowledge of our products and the individual needs of our customers.
We focus solely on cats and dogs, the largest segment of the companion pet industry, enabling us to specialize in the areas of greatest expenditure. Our focus on strictly natural, healthy food and supplements not only reflects the fastest growing sub-segment of the industry, but portrays us our commitment to healthy lifestyles and communities.
How many locations are there?
After over a decade of development in Colorado, Wag N’ Wash started franchising nationwide in 2014. We currently have awarded new franchise agreements in Arizona, Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, Texas and Washington. We currently have 18 locations, with several more planned for 2017.
How much does it cost to open a Wag N' Wash?
The average investment is approximately $638,329. This includes the franchise fee of $40,000, build-out costs, training expenses, the first 3 months of rent, furniture, signage, computer equipment, inventory and supplies, initial advertising and grand opening costs.
How much Is the franchise fee?
The single unit franchise fee is $40,000. We also offer three-unit and five-unit agreements to select and qualifying candidates.
What are the ongoing fees?
Franchise Owners pay a monthly royalty equal to 5% of gross sales. The fee entitles you to continued use of the Wag N’ Wash name and trademarks, access to our operating systems, product development, ongoing business consulting and other benefits that come with being a franchise owner in Wag N’ Wash. We disclose the details of these costs in our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
How is the brand marketed In each location?
Corporate marketing pays for advertising design, in-store POP materials, shopping bags, bakery bags, brochures, social media management, gift card materials and the materials required for the customer VIP program. Local marketing is done by our Franchise Owners through charity events, in-store events, and community partnerships.
How does territory work?
We will negotiate the specific size of your Protected Territory based upon the population density, and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to grant only one license to a Franchise Owner for every 100,000 people in a designated geographical area. The actual size of the Protected Territory will vary depending on the population density in your area. We use the most recent data available in the U.S. Census Data, or other population statistical sources of our choosing, to determine population size.
What is the average store size?
We offer a full retail and natural foods selection, with an bakery, grooming rooms and self-service wash stations. To do all this, we require a space ranging from 3500 sq. ft. to 5000 sq. ft.
Is there support for the construction of my store?
Wag N’ Wash has a talented corporate staff with decades of experience in finding the best vendors for supplying affordable, yet stunningly designed stories. We help you every step of the way.
Do I need prior experience?
No. However, you do need to have a love for animals and a strong drive for success!
Do I need to be in my store every day?
In the beginning, we ask that new Franchise Owners work in the store. You will then scale to a full-time Assistant Manager, 2 full-time employees, 2 part-time employees and 1 – 2 groomers (commissioned). It’s important for new Franchise Owners to learn the business, lead the staff and build community awareness before moving into an absentee role or opening up additional locations.
What training will I receive?
Our initial training is conducted in our corporate offices in Denver, Colorado over the course of 2 weeks. We invite you, and up to two of your managers, to attend and complete the training program in which you will learn how to successfully run your Wag N’ Wash.
Can I bring my pet to work?
Absolutely! After all, it’s your business and it’s a pet-friendly place to be!
